Every BIOS that is newer than 1306 shows only 4 GB of my 6 GB RAM.
BIOS 1306 and earlier show all of the 6 GB just fine.
After flashing to any of the newer BIOS's and loading setup defaults, it still showed only 4 GB.
I reseated the memory modules every time, just to be 100% sure.
The fact that older BIOS's do show 6 GB tells me that the memory is ok (I swapped all 3 modules with 3 spare modules, of a different brand, same results).
Could this be a bug in the BIOS's that came after 1306 perhaps? If something changed in 1406 and remained unchanged in the following versions, this could be plausible.
Obviously, I have a Rampage II extreme, or I would not be posting here.
The memory I'm using is a kit of 3 modules, Mushkin XP3-12800 (998670).
The spare memory set is a kit from Kingston, PC3-8500 CL7.
Since I freshly flashed the BIOS, everything was set to setup defaults, no OC'ing was done.
Does anyone have any ideas?? I would really like to upgrade my BIOS and keep my 6 GB of memory, so I can make use of the Asus ROG OC Station I bought. (need at least BIOS 1406 for that...)
