Plaats hier aub tips om SSD prestaties te verbeteren

Deze heb ik al toegepast:

Increase System Speed
Disable indexing
Description: Indexing creates and maintains a database of file attributes. This can lead to multiple small writes when creating/deleting/modifying files. Searching for files will still work.
Instructions: Start Menu -> Right-Click Computer -> Manage -> Services and Applications -> Services - > Right-Click Windows Search -> Startup type: Disabled -> OK

Disable defragmentation
Description: Defragmenting a hard disk's used space is only useful on mechanical disks with multi-millisecond latencies. Free-space defragmentation may be useful to SSDs, but this feature is not available in the default Windows Defragmenter.
Instructions: Start Menu -> Right-Click Computer -> Manage -> Services and Applications -> Services - > Right-Click Disk Defragmenter -> Startup type: Disabled -> OK

Disable Write Caching
Description: There is no cache on the SSD, so there are no benefits to write caching. There are conflicting reports on whether this gains speed or not.
Instructions: Start Menu -> Right-Click Computer -> Manage -> Device Manager -> Disk drives -> Right-Click STEC PATA -> Properties -> Policies Tab -> Uncheck Enable write caching -> OK

Let wel, het disablen van indexing is vooral bedoeld om de random writes te beperken, waar die oude SSDs met jmicron controllers zo verschrikkelijk slecht in waren. De nieuwe SSDs (vertex en intel bijvoorbeeld) zijn allemaal prima in staat om dit te doen, en daarvoor is het dus ook niet aan te raden, want dit indexing heeft wel degelijk een goed nut (het versnellen van je zoekopdrachten).

Wel is het disablen van de disk defragmentation handig, want dat heeft toch geen enkel nut voor een SSD (alleen voor een HDD) en het levert alleen maar extra slijtage op voor je SSD.

En wat write caching betreft: Eigenlijk beschikken alle moderne SSDs over cache, ook degene die nog jmicron gebruiken. Dat is dus helemaal niet nodig

Is het niet zo dat Windhoos7 al geoptimaliseerd is voor ssd's?
En de defragmetatie enzo al is uitgeschakeld?

Nop.

Wel ondersteunt Win7 het TRIM command, dat drive degradation tegen moet gaan zodra je de drive bijna volgeschreven hebt, maar dat is iets heel anders.

Op mijn laptop had Windows 7 al wel automatisch defragmentatie en enkele andere dingen uitgeschakeld.

Maar op mijn andere PC niet, waar ik twee SSD in raid0 heb gezet, waarschijnlijk herkent Windows 7 het dan niet als SSD schijf ofzo.
