Hello and welcome.

Swiftech, one of the most popular overseas water cooling solution, brought before not too long ago, a revised version of its complete cooling water H2O.
New on the set of Apogee HD delivers cooler for the CPU, a GPU cooler from Swiftech is not with this set, that would be logistically a very big problem with the amount of different graphics cards.
But first we come to the set and we look at the individual components and technical details.

What's in the box?

As you may have thought in this set of Swiftech really every little thing, so you can unpack the kit and install the same without even having to buy what to make very good Swiftech.

The pump is like to read up on, PWM controlled and has a slightly higher flow rate than regular Laing. The good thing about the PWM control is that you can control the pump and directly dependent on the temperature of the CPU cooler connected to the mainboard, so you do not need more control.

The all-new Apogee HD weighs coolers, including the pre-installed Intel-holder, only 180 grams and is one of the lightweights of the CPU water cooler. He is 60 x 60 x 20.2 millimeters and has a polyoxymethylene (POM) lid. The four-millimeter thick

Base plate is made of copper and highly polished. The two parts are held together by a total of 8 screws.

The most outstanding feature of the cooler is the ability to build both a parallel as well as a series circuit. This is the cooler one input and three outputs. As you can see in the figure below, the cooler in the parallel operation acts as a distributor of the cooling medium evenly distributed on up to three outputs, so that also the most complex loop circuits possible. However, this requires the use of appropriate radiators, radiator with either one or three inputs, three single radiators.

The use of nozzles or Jetplates dispensed Swiftech completely at this cooler, the cooling medium is pressed up by a small starting chamber via the existing fine structure of the cooler towards the outlet chamber. The processing of the cover and the soil is very good.
The installation is very simple, it is the back plate from the back glued to the motherboard and the cooler on the CPU with thermal compound moistened, put the spring and screwed into the threaded bolts of the baking sheet.

The Swiftech radiator in this set is a representative of the so-called slim fraction, with a weight of only 34 mm thick (in radiator) and the thick disk can be seen, the application immediately. This radiator has been optimized for use by Swiftech with high speed fans, the gains of this approach with increasing fan power efficiency, have already proved my other radiator testing. The cooling performance is offset by increased volume must all be clear, this decision must be every man for himself whether he prefers a silent or maximum cooling performance.

Swiftech has included in this radiator as both the pump and the reservoir, leading to a reduced installation costs and, secondly, the system designed to be relatively compact.

The radiator is supplied with pre-cooling fans, the only pity the fan cables are not covered, which interferes with the otherwise flawless exterior appearance significantly. Otherwise, the processing of the radiator is impeccable.

Now we come to the test system and tests:

Test system:

Mainboard: Asrock Z68 Professional
CPU: Intel Core i7 2600K @ 4,5 Ghz bei 1,35V
RAM: 8 GB (2x4GB) Corsair Vengeance
Grafik: Club3D HD7970
Netzteil: Corsair HX1050
SSD: ADATA S510 für OS
HDD: Samsung F3 HD502HJ
Gehäuse: Xigmatek Elysium Super Tower

Watercooling:

CPU: Swiftech Apogee HD
Graphic: air
Pump: Swiftech MCP35X
Conditions: Integrated into the radiator
Temperature sensors: 2x Phobya IG / AG
Monitoring: Aqua Computer XT 5 Aquaero
Quick couplings: 2x Koolance VLN3
Hose: 19/13 Swiftech
Phobya Radiator Booth 360
As liquid was supplied in the kit from Swiftech HydroX coolant.

Cycle structure:

AGB-pump unit in the radiator> Clutch> CPU> couplings on the radiator input

Sensors on one input / output of radiator mounted.

The test program I use it with Prime95 with fixed value of 12 K, fixing the value is important in order to avoid fluctuations and the 12 K because they stress the CPU at the most .

Testing is always the same sequence, for 1 hour prime runs, though I'm the set with five fan speeds and two fan sites testing, namely 600/900/1200/1500 and 2000 RPM. These tests are repeated three times each. Evaluation is carried out with Aqua Suite and CoreTemp and is considered the average temperature of all measurements. The important value is the difference (delta T) room temperature to water temperature at the outlet of the radiator.
As a comparison, the fan came Phobya Nano G-12 is used.

And these are the results:

edge320hsias.png

As can be seen from the table, is the concept design to full, with increasing fan speed, the system becomes more and more efficiency and cooling performance.

Unfortunately the fan is not included in the set, the best figure, even the comparison with the Phobya fan makes it clear that what can go here. The Swiftech fans are for me the only criticism of this yet so powerful set.

Conclusion.

The California manufacturer Swiftech has this set with one seen technically efficient, complete set very good cooling on the legs. Only not so positive impression on me, the fans, they are already at 900 RPM and easily heard above all they cover with their great hub to an unacceptably large area of the radiator. Even the comparison with the slower spinning fans Phobya shows is something lost in cooling capacity. Here Swiftech would be well advised to switch to other fans while introducing the fan cable sheathing, that would be yet another optical advantage. Technically the set is equipped and operated with the PWM-controlled pump also very simple. The concept of the radiator is unique and innovative, the possibilities are virtually endless. A parallel or series connection of the radiator, the number of on / witness to / installation options of the radiator and the absolutely complete delivery of it, that Swiftech is a lot of thought has been to offer the best possible set. The cooling performance and workmanship are excellent and the current price of $ 269.95 (unfortunately not currently available in U.S.) is perfectly fine.

For the very good cooling performance, the perfect delivery and Easy installation and operation, the set gets the coveted gold award in Cartago's Review.
