Eerste Waterkoeling €500 / €200

Hallo,

Ik kan niet so goed nederlands schrijf/praten, maar engels. Ik kan nederlands verstaan

I need some advice on a good water cooling system for my:

CPU: intel i7 920 (OC 3.7ghz)
Grfx: Geforce 260 gtx
MB: Evga x58 sli
Ram: Corsair 6gb
HDD: 1 OCZ Core 60gb SSD, WD 1tb, Segate 1TB
Case: Thermaltake Armor, Thermaltakeusa******»******Chassis******»******Full Tower******»******Armor Series******»******Armor : Armor VA8003BWS

I have Noctua NH-U12P fan now which works good, but I want to get better cooling for my system. I need CPU and grfx card water cooling. Maybe You people here can get me some ideas on a more expensive and on a less expensive cooling system? My case is well suited for a water cooling kit, tho I dont know whats the best and so on. Its goed if I can buy all the things here in holland on Highflow. The budget on 500 euro and 200 euro can be altered to more or even less. Im happy for all advice I can get.

Hi Landar, just write in English

If you want to cool both CPU and GPU, it's best you take a 360 radiator.
Where are you planning to mount the radiator?
You can mount it without modification at the rear of the case.
If you want your radiator on top, you have to modify the case to get it to fit.

Most of the choices of your watercooling setup is personal, depending on your personal taste and your budget.
So I advice you to try to make your own setup first.
Just use the following list below to make a complete setup.
Then post it here, we can then check it and give you advise to improve your setup.

1. Radiator: (choose at least a 240 radiator, a 360 radiator is recommended)
2. Fans: (Choose the fans you think are best looking)
3a. CPU block: (Choose one you think is best looking)
3b. GPU block: (check here for compatibility: CoolingConfigurator.com)
4. Reservoir: (Chooese one you think is best looking)
5a. Pump: (MCP355 or MCP655 recommended)
5b. Pomp Top: (optional, but recommended for better performance and tube compatibility)
6. Liquid: (2 bottles of Feser will do)
7. Tube: (If you like big tube, go for 13mm tube, otherwise 10mm tube)
8. Fittings: (size is depending on the size of tube you have, then choose the fittings you think is best looking)
9. Accessories: Cooling paste, Funnel, Tube cutter, UV light, Sleeving Kits etc.)

Ive checked now and this is what I think is good for me:

1. Radiator: Black Ice GT Stealth 360 Black
2. Fans: 3x NOISEBLOCKER 120MM NB-Multiframe S-Series MF12-S3HS
3a. CPU block: EK-Supreme HF - Full Copper
3b. GPU block: Aqua-Computer AquagraFX GTX275 / GTX260
4. Reservoir: Bitspower 5.25 Bay Reservoir Black BP-WT525P-BK
5a. Pump: XSPC Acrylic Dual 5.25 bay Reservoir for Laing D5/MCP655/PMP-450
5b. Pomp Top: XSPC Acrylic Dual 5.25 bay Reservoir for Laing D5/MCP655/PMP-450 (dont know if I should chose a smaller ?)
6. Liquid: 2x Feser One Cooling Fluid - UV BLUE
7. Tube: Feser Tube UV - HighFlow - 3/8 ID - 1/2 OD - BLUE (2m-3m?)
8. Fittings: 10MM (3/8 ID - 1/2 OD) Bitspower Schroeffitting Paar - G1/4 (2 stuks, more but how many?)
9. Accessories: Arctic Cooling MX-3 Koelpasta (4g), PrimoChill Clip / Slangklem (3/8) kunststof UV Blue,

Reservoir is something I need advice on also with the pompen (1 on top and 1 on the case floor?)
The slang Im not sure on how long I need.
Fittings and accessories im not sure on either.

I will try and mount the radiator on the front of the case.

Be sure the graphic card block fits your videocard, therefore e-mail to info@aqua-computer.de with the question.

You haven't selected a pump yet, but you selected two reservoirs.
You only need one reservoir.
So delete the selections you now have for 5a and 5b and get this:
5a: Laing / Swiftech D5-MCP655 12V 1/2"
5b: Bitspower D5/MCP655 Mod Pump Top V2 POM BP-D5TOPP2-BK

3 meters of tube is enough for most builds.

You'll need 10 fittings in total, so you can order 5x the Bitspower fitting pairs.

You don't need Tube clamps, as you've selected compression fittings.

I would get a thicker radiator such as a XSPC RX or a Thermochill PA or TFC Xchanger, for a little more money you will get much more heat exchanging surface. So you will be able to get lower temperatures and/or use lower rpm fans for the same temperature thus decreasing the noise level of your pc.

5a. Pump:Laing D5-MCP655 12V - 1/2 slang aansluiting
5b. Pomp Top: Bitspower D5/MCP655 Mod Pump Top V2 POM BP-D5TOPP2-BK
6. Liquid: 2x Feser Aqua - Ultra Pure Water
7. Tube: 3x Feser Tube UV - HighFlow - 3/8 ID - 1/2 OD - BLUE
8. Fittings: 5x 10MM (3/8 ID - 1/2 OD) Bitspower Schroeffitting Paar - G1/4 (2 stuks)
9. Accessories: Arctic Cooling MX-3 Koelpasta (4g)

Made a change on the radiator, also on the fans.

I have some questions.

I will have the radiator connected in the front of the case. Some say to have the fans blow the air in (against radiator/case) is the best and others to suck it out from the case.

So for "XSPC RX360 Black radiator" and the 3 "Be Quiet! 120MM Fan SilentWings PWM 1500RPM" how will I get the best setup with the fans?

For the temperatures inside the case it is the best to suck or blow the air out of the case. But it is not the case you are mainly cooling, it are the CPU and GPU wich are the most important to give the best cooling options. For that goal the air outside the case is always the best choice.
This is one of the biggest advantages of watercooling to dispensate the heat from the components with the coolest air you can find. That is the air outside the case and not from the inside.

Other components like memory or mobo components will can dispensate their heat to the airflow generated by the fans from the radiator and the out-take fans in your case. The air comming through the radiator is in most cases only slightly warmer as the air outside the case. This airflow is cool enough to carry out the heat from the mobo components and memory.

Its meant for the 5b to be replacing the other on 5a, correct?

That's right, you have to replace the standard top of the pump with the one from Bitspower

I will give you one advice to look for when installing the top: Check if you don't have something important laying outside the top. I've heard several cases where people forgot to put in their o-ring which caused the pump to leak and sometimes even fry itself.

The pump isn't loud, and barely uses any electricity, so I think it's probably best to run it at 5, though some people like the sound of speed 4 better, but I don't have one, so it's not something I've tested out myself.
